Welcome!
A little about me.
Currently, I am the communications specialist for the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. With HPM I do a little bit of everything - run social media and the website, publish the department newsletters and annual report, photography and video for marketing and promotion, alumni and external relations and data and graphic visualizations for grant submissions and publications.
Before joining Pitt, I was a news producer for over 9 years in 3 markets (Youngstown, Cleveland and Pittsburgh). I did almost every job in the newsroom except anchor. I've covered everything from stories that made national and local headlines, to politics, weather and sports, with a preference for the latter.
I've taught digital writing and broadcast writing courses at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland and have lectured on topics including: broadcasting best practices, journalism ethics, FOIA and Sunshine Laws and marketing scientific research and discoveries.
I have a deep passion for sports and sports journalism and am open for freelance opportunities.
If you want to check out my credentials, look at my resume. If you want to see what projects and stories I've worked on head over to my work.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or freelance opportunities.
